Also, last weekend I finally mulched the perennial bed I made a few weeks ago. I wanted to wait a bit to see how the plants are doing there, but there's no rain currently so I wanna save as much water as I can.
The plan was to make a bed with native blooming stuff to attract more bees and friends, but due to closed stores we basically dropped the native requirement and got what we could. We already noticed increasing numbers of (bumble)bees so seems to work. Also moved 2 strawberry plants and some chive in between and will add some more plants later once I see how much these are growing horizontally.
I also tried to copy some Hügelkultur techniques and make the bed a bit vertical, but this can barely be seen in the pictures and it's not that high (didn't have so much soil). Anyway, there are branches and leaves in the soil.
The pics are taken in the very late afternoon, the bushed don't throw that much shade most of the day. The first row are the plants with higher need for light as they'll get more there.
