6 blocks siezed around Capitol Hill Seattle. Who's Streets? OUR STREETS.
The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone née "Free Capitol" is a 6 block section around the East Precinct in Seattle, WA. Abandoned by police and left to burn, this area was instead siezed by anarchists, BLM supporters and other protestors who have since transformed it into an emerging community based on mutual aid.Established on June 8th 2020 in the midst of nationwide civil unrest triggered by the murder of George Floyd the CHAZ is still young. Within the self governed blocks you can find food vendors, daily marches, public film screenings and community councils hosted throughout the day.On this page you can find more information on the protestor's demands or check out a gallery of images from inside. A stream hosted by SeattleProtest2020 has 5 cameras just outside the CHAZ and can be viewed live as well.
